Call for Board Members

We are actively looking to increase the number of "Members at Large" participating on a regular basis with the Civic Hospital Neighbourhood Association. With the four primary executive positions in place, along with Alayne's continued support as Past President, we need folks that can contribute a couple of hours a month to lead issues and projects.

If you are interested, please flip me an email at scottbradleyottawa@gmail.com

The initial thinking is that we hold an executive meeting roughly once every 4-6 weeks for 90 minutes. We will try to accomodate all schedules, but will probably look to meet later in the evening to accomodate kids and dogs. Additional volunteer hours would depend on what projects you took on, but if we can have an active executive of 10-12 people, we can hopefully spread out the workload.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Post AGM Comments

Just a couple of quick notes as a follow up to Wednesday's AGM meeting:

  • I think everyone who has been active, or is keen to become active in the association, was very pleased to see the turnout on Wednesday. I did a count of the room, and had between 95-100 residents in attendance. This turnout only reinforces what many of us believe that we live in a great neighbourhood.
  • Martha will be completing the minutes in the next couple of days, and I will try to figure out how to post these on the blog. They should be up shortly.

  • We've added the issue of the Parkdale Montessori to the list of key issues, and will hopefully be in position to provide an update within the next week.

  • Per the call for Board Members posting that you will also see on this blog, we will plan to host a number of meetings with the working board every 4-6 weeks, and will plan to have a full association meeting in a few months time, unless pressing issues dictate we need to host a full session earlier.

  • On a personal note, I very much appreciate the nomination for President, and look forward to continuing the work that Alayne and the CHNA have achieved over the past few years.
